Details, glamour shots, and pics of the problem areas to follow soon. But figured it needed to be stated that I bought this car today. It's also my birthday, so this a very fitting present to myself! The car made the 2 and a half hour drive home through traffic with zero issues so it's a good start. Time to immediately start modding it!

Step 1, change transmission oil to XT-M5-QS

Step 2 enjoy shifting even more

Change the rear diff too but be sure to use GL4, not 5 which I heard can cause issues with bronze. Some GL5 have additives that reduce the bronze issue.

The faded mirrors and rear spoiler inspire me to wrap them in black which is my first plan for sure.

Step 1 - rebuild the shifter, it’s definitely original

Step 2 - motor mounts, their worn

Then fluids for sure, although maintenance history shows a regular change of the stuff. Even in its current state, the 5spd shifts infinitely better than the 6spd in my other Miata!
